Chinese Company wants to set up an electric car assembly plant in Koh Kong

China Matrix Technology Group-Horche Intelligent Automobile aims to invest in industrial technology by setting up a factory and assembling electric vehicles in Koh Kong province. This is according to the meeting through the online system on October 22, 2022.

The meeting focused on building good relations so that Chinese investors can come to understand the land cooperation policy, human resources, and potentials related to the technology sector of the electric vehicle industry in Koh Kong province.

According to Lok Chumteav Mithona Phuthong, Governor of Koh Kong Province, in 2021, Koh Kong Province has 7 large-scale industries with 10,843 workers, including car assembly, wiring, electronics, and textiles. Garment, sports equipment, and so on.

There are 755 small and medium enterprises and handicrafts.

In Koh Kong province, apart from agriculture, about 55.5% is industry, 0.3% is the service sector, 44.2%, of which the labor force is factory workers, enterprises and the private sector is about 15.1% of the total population.
